I am pleased and honored to announce Vision Point Systems will hold our Second Annual Golf Tournament to take place on June 23rd. We founded the VPS Golf Classic in 2022 as an event for bringing the business community in the DC area together for a day of golf and to fundraise for nonprofits who utilize technology at the heart of their missions.

Our beneficiary this year is Trek Medics International. Since 2010, Trek Medics has been at the forefront of providing crisis management solutions for communities around the world that do not have access to an emergency phone number framework such as our 911 system. Central to Trek Medics is their proprietary software-based response coordination system called Beacon. Beacon is being used in Africa, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean. The team at TrekMedics is currently involved in bringing their program to Ukraine and Turkey.

Trek Medics relied on VPS to develop version 1.0 of Beacon. I had the pleasure of working with Founder and Executive Director Jason Friesen to implement Beacon in Malawi’s capital city of Lilongwe in 2019. It is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life.
